ETERNAL ELITE

                                 RIGHTEOUSNESS IS ETERNAL

JESUS taught, as the Prophets taught

before him, that there is one God, the Lord and Father of all, whose pleasure it is that we His children should live righteous lives, for only in that way can we find true happiness in a world made by the God of Righteousness.

He loves us dearly and will give us all we need if we trust in Him for everything.

Through Prayer we can draw close to Him and know His love for ourselves, if we reflect His love and goodness in our own dealings with our brothers who live around us. It is only as we show love to others that we can really enjoy His ceaseless love; only as we forgive others can we know the serenity and joy which come when our sins are forgiven and we are at peace with God. Our prayer should be simple and frank, straight from the heart of a child to its loving Father and avoiding all the show of piety that draws respect and admiration of other men and so puffs up the pride of our little selves.

We should obey the laws of men when they are not against the inner Law of God, the conscience, but it is more vital to live in harmony with the spirit of the Law in doing good than slavishly to adhere to the letter of its precepts. Sincerity is worth more than many verbal prayers and showy deeds of virtue or of charity.

Men should not compete for glory or position over one another, nor confer or accept high-sounding titles, for all alike are brothers, frail children of One Father. They are not born to rule, but to serve each other even to the death; by following the Divine Spirit through all suffering and persecution they will nobly win the eternal crown of victory.

Those who manfully take up the work of ushering in the spiritual Kingdom of God on earth will be the nearest to Him in the glory of the life to come. That Kingdom is now in the heart of every man, hidden in the darkness like a tiny seed. To bring it to a splendid harvest in the self and in the world around is the first and greatest duty of the follower of Jesus. And his reward is to be with him where he is, in the glory of God the Father, where no shadow of sorrow can ever enter in for all eternity.
